SpringFilm: Catch-22 (1970)

SpringFilm: Catch-22 (1970) In-Person

Join the Springfield Public Library for a free showing of the 1970 Black Comedy Classic Catch-22 at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15th at the Wildish Community Theater in downtown Springfield.

Adapted from the 1961 novel of the same name, Catch-22 is a black comedy war film about Captain John Yossarian, a pilot in the US Army Air Forces, and his attempts to be certified insane to get out of flying missions. Despite his best efforts, he finds there’s simply a no-win situation in a world gone mad. Studded with an all-star cast to round out this biting satire, Catch-22 stands apart as a timeless classic.

SpringFilm continues at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, with a free showing of the cult classic Sci Fi Comedy Galaxy Quest.

SpringFilm is made possible by a partnership between the Springfield Public Library, the Springfield Public Library Foundation, Willamalane Parks and Recreation District, and the Wildish Community Theater, and is generously sponsored by Plank Town Brewing Company.

All SpringFilm events are free and open to the community.
