Guest Storytime: Soulful Stories In-Person
B.L.A.Q. Youth presents Soulful Stories: a vibrant reading experience for youth, fostering cultural pride and creativity through engaging stories and hands-on activities.
Come to the library for an interactive story-time that includes a craft and snacks. The featured story is “Kicks in the Sky” early registrants will receive a copy of the book. "Kicks in the Sky" is a vibrant children's picture book by C.G. Esperanza that transforms everyday urban scenes into a magical adventure. The story centers on colorful sneakers hanging from telephone wires throughout the city. When a few special pairs fall to the ground, local children eagerly try them on, discovering that these enchanted shoes grant them extraordinary abilities, such as dancing, skating, and playing basketball with exceptional skill. The narrative captures the children's joy and the community's curiosity about the origins of these magical sneakers.
