Wordcrafters Writing Workshop: Take Me There - Penning Your Travel Stories

Wordcrafters Writing Workshop: Take Me There - Penning Your Travel Stories In-Person

This 2-hour workshop introduces travel writing basics just in time for you to record your summer adventures. You don’t need to go far from home to share what there is to see and do in your corner of the globe. We will look at examples of classic and contemporary works in travel writing, including blogs, and discuss how to develop your own pieces. Suitable for all writing and travel abilities.

Instructor Bronwynn Dean holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goddard College. Her work has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, The Pitkin Review, Soundings Review, Sativa, Bang! Magazine and The Eugene Weekly. She teaches, tutors young writers, copyedits and works at the local independent bookstore.

The class size is limited to 25 and will be held in the Library Meeting Room inside Springfield City Hall. To ensure your spot please sign-up via this calendar event, at the library’s reference desk or by calling 541-726-3766. Walk-in participants will be welcome as long as there are spaces available.

Each month, the Springfield Public Library hosts a free writing workshop for the public, presented by Wordcrafters in Eugene. All are welcome to join the free writing workshops. Adult library events are made possible by a sponsorship from the Springfield Public Library Foundation.

Wordcrafters provides writers and readers opportunities to strengthen their craft, deepen their connection with literature, and share their knowledge with each other and with future generations. Wordcrafters offers an annual writing conference, year-round writing classes and retreats, young writers camps and workshops, and Writers in the Schools.

All events are free and open to the public.
