SpringFilm: 'The Turn of the Screw' Live Stream and Film Discussion

SpringFilm: 'The Turn of the Screw' Live Stream and Film Discussion

Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey’s Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley) star in a 2009 BBC Production of the classic story by Henry James.

Springfield Public Library’s monthly Springfilm series presents a ZOOM Live Stream of ‘The Turn of the Screw’ at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, followed by an online discussion.  Based on the 1898 ghost story by Henry James, this chilling tale is based around a conversation, shown through flashbacks, between Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens, playing a Governess and sanitorium Doctor respectively.   As the tale unfolds we learn that the Governess, caring for a pair of orphans, began to see ghostly figures on the idyllic estate – and perhaps the children could see them too.  ‘The Turn of the Screw’ can be seen right now on the library’s streaming video service AVOD: https://avod.infobase.com/p_ViewVideo.aspx?xtid=59568&tScript=0 or join the ZOOM Live Stream at the link below.

Featuring Michelle Dockery, Dan Stevens, Corin Redgrave and Eva Sayers. Directed by Tim Fywell; 93 mins; not rated (TV) (2009).

For more information or for help accessing Infobase AVOD or ZOOM please phone (541) 726-3766, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public.
