Join author Dante Zúñiga-West and Celebrate Fiesta Cultural with Storytelling!!

Got a family story you don't want to be lost? Come online and save that story! We will compose and share our stories, and then record them to have as a remembrance for your friends and family.
The class will be offered in English, but you can share your stories in whichever language you feel most comfortable. A seperate Spanish speaking offering of this program will be held on Wednesday, November 17: https://springfield-or.libcal.com/event/8469886

This workshop will have:
* A safe place to gather and discuss the process and art of storytelling, and share them with a group of other storytellers.
* Encouragement and guidance in telling your own stories.

About the Instructor: Dante Zúñiga-West is a Blaxican storyteller who lives in the coastal mountain range. He is author of the novel Rumble Young Man Rumble (2014, Zharmae Press) and a founder of the Stonecutter’s Union. His writing is frequently published in alternative newspapers, lifestyle magazines, and adventure journals. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Cal Arts and a BA in Creative Writing and Mixed Media from The Evergreen State College. He serves as Head of School at the Wellsprings Friends School. Dante will talk about oral and written storytelling traditions. This Workshop is offered by the nonprofit, Wordcrafters in Eugene, as part of StoryHelix, and funded in part by Lane Arts Council. Sobre el instructor: Dante Zúñiga-West es un narrador afrochicano que vive en la cordillera costera. Es autor de la novela Rumble Young Man Rumble (2014, Zharmae Press) y fundador de Stonecutter’s Union. Sus escritos se publican con frecuencia en periódicos alternativos, revistas de estilo de vida y revistas de aventuras. Tiene una maestría en escritura creativa de Cal Arts y una licenciatura en escritura creativa y medios mixtos de The Evergreen State College. Se desempeña como director de escuela en Wellsprings Friends School. Dante hablará sobre las tradiciones narrativas orales y escritas.
