Springfield Celebrates Authors - Kesha Ajose Fisher and 'No God Like The Mother' In-Person

Stories of the lives and realities of women tasked with holding up the sky while the world whispers “you’re doing it wrong” will be shared as Springfield Celebrates Authors 2022.  Oregon author Kesha Ajose Fisher presents her debut fiction collection ‘No God Like the Mother’ at 1 p.m., Saturday March 12 in-person in the Springfield Public Library and online via ZOOM.  Described as “hauntingly beautiful” and “compelling”, ‘No God Like the Mother’ was awarded the 2020 Ken Kesey Award for Fiction at the Oregon Book Awards.  Kesha, who was born in Chicago and raised in Lagos, Nigeria is an Oregon Literary Fellow, a vocal advocate for immigrants and refugees, and champions equality, education and social justice for the most vulnerable members of society.

Springfield Celebrates Authors is an annual series presented by the Springfield Public Library highlighting local, national and international authors.  Springfield Celebrates Authors continues with Oregon Book Award nominees courtesy of Literary Arts at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022.
